Horizon Outreach Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Horizon Outreach is committed to keeping Houston Strong. During the month,  of September, many families in Houston were impacted by the effects of Hurricane Harvey. Sadly, there were some lives lost as well.

During this devastation, Horizon Outreach along with other non-profit organizations and the City of Houston, committed to helping families rebuild and restore all that was lost.

Thankfully, Horizon Outreach’s offices were spared from any destruction. However, many of the families we serve were displaced.

In response to the need, Katrina Johnson, the President/CEO of Horizon Outreach, immediately launched efforts to secure donations, perform wellness checks on families, and to distribute monetary donations. As a result of her efforts and the team of Horizon Outreach, the Kids Zone was transformed into Hurricane Harvey R & R Headquarters.

  1. 50 Men obtained Disaster Employment with pay ranging from $9 – $15 per hour.
  2. Over 100 Men & Women Toiletry Kits were distributed along with food, pampers, Clothing, socks. etc.
  3. 10 Families residing in shelters received monetary donations to assist with household goods.

Horizon Outreach continues to support these efforts. We currently have an abundance of women’s clothing/shoes and some men’s clothing available.
